Many lovers end up fighting because of this word "jealousy", some even leads to drastic scenario (e.g murder)I remember one of the flash report in the other night husband killed he's wife because of wrong accusation, see being in the state of jealousy can ruin your life. So what is jealousy is all about? How can we prevent it from acting strange?
Some authorities say jealousy is a sign that we are insecure and unsure of ourselves, we have a "low self image". Others believe the roots of jealousy go back to childhood dependency when we tried to lay exclusive claim to our mother's love and care. Some people think jealousy is a true measure of love, they assume that the more jealous you are , the more you love your girlfriend or boyfriend.
When you're jealous you want to fence in the other person, to keep him or her wholly to yourself. You are, in short being selfish and possessive. Your concern is with what you want, not with the other person wants. You're afraid that he or she might enjoy or give some attention to someone other that yourself.
Such a response is selfish , this kind of attitude is the one taking you of from your relationship . You are not willing to release the other person to do freely what he or she finds enjoyable. In effect it's like you are saying "I want you to be happy, but only if you do what makes me happy. My happiness comes first, not yours". This is a sign of infatuation not love. I'm not saying that you will never feel jealous, none of us ever gets to be 100% selfless duh!I even considered my self as a jealous person, but in some cases I tried to be calm and study the things before I brag about it. But if you love the person the more you are able to release her or him, "Release is an expression of trust, respect and acceptance".To the extend love is not selfish, you can free of jealousy.
That's why it's so important that love be mutual. If you love you trust, that means you need someone worthy of that trust. In that way you can free each other to your true selves, in full confidence that your trust will not be betrayed.
